Preventative Care
There are treatments for heartworms but they are sometimes unsuccessful. However, heartworm infection is easily prevented. Some vets advise taking a monthly medication during mosquito season or taking a monthly medication all year around.
Spay or Neuter
There are so many animals without homes. Plus, these procedures will prevent breast cancer, pyometra, infections of the uterus in females and testicular cancer, prostrate disease, hernias and aggressive behavior in males.
Vaccinate
Our canine family members should be given a five in one vaccine to protect them from many infectious diseases. Also, a rabies vaccination is necessary every year. Ask your vet if vaccinations for kennel cough and Lyme disease are recommended for your dog.
Please remember...
Our furry family members, our best friends, depend on us! Please perform a weekly health check and fight fleas safely. They need exercise just as we do. It helps to keep them physically fit and mentally healthy. Moving will help with arthritus and unwanted pounds. Overwieght animals will develop health issues just as you or I would. We all could use some fun, sun and fresh air, so get out there!
